Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor agonists - Alarelin (one of the gonadorelin)

HCG (Gonadotropin) is a natural compound produced by the placenta and created commercially using genetic recombination techniques, Gonadorelin is a synthetic peptide produced by biochemical techniques. Although the two compounds have similar effects because they act on the same receptor, they are not identical. Studies indicate that gonadorelin may exhibit an expanded spectrum of beneficial effects, while being easier to store. Both agents will drive a feedback loop at high doses.

Gonadorelin is a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone that, like HCG, increases luteinizing hormone (LH), but also activates folliculotropic hormone (FSH), which HCG does not do. Gonadorelin does this by stimulating the pituitary gland, which is essential for testosterone production in the testicles, causing not only the reversal of testicular atrophy, but also results in increased semen volume.
