The arginate salt of BPC-157 is highly stable in human gastric juice and increases bioavailability after oral administration from less than 3% to over 90%. The arginate salt of BPC-157 is also more stable in environments with varying temperatures and is resistant to UV light exposure. Studies show that only 5% of BPC-157 arginate degrades after 5 hours in gastric acid, compared to 98% degradation of the acetate salt after oral administration. The increased oral bioavailability of the arginate salt makes it the preferred choice in studies on oral BPC-157.
