N-Acetyl Epitalon is a synthetic peptide that is based on the natural peptide present in the pineal gland - epitalamine. It is a potential modulator of telomerase, an enzyme that maintains and protects the telomere caps at the ends of chromosomes (DNA strands). Research suggests that epithalon causes telomere lengthening and may consequently combat the effects of ageing. Studies on rodents and fruit flies also prove its anti-ageing properties.
