Matrixyl works by stimulating the growth of new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which help to naturally fill in fine wrinkles from within the skin. Matrixyl, scientifically named palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, is a safer and more effective anti-aging ingredient than retinol, it works faster than retinol, but does not irritate the skin. This ingredient not only prevents wrinkles, but also moisturizes the skin, preventing it from drying out, mimicking the action of "matrykines" - naturally occurring peptides (short chains of amino acids) that are bound to our collagen fibers.
