Epitalone is a synthetic peptide that is based on a natural peptide present in the pineal gland - epitalamine. It is a potential modulator of telomerase, an enzyme that maintains and protects telomere caps at the ends of chromosomes (DNA strands). Studies suggest that epithalamine causes telomere elongation and may combat the effects of aging as a result. Studies on rodents and fruit flies also prove its anti-aging properties.
